This document contains a collection of poems and reflections from a poetry anthology. It includes 6 poems about sea creatures, skydiving, fish as food, and suicide. After each poem is a short reflection on how the poem was written and any influences. At the end is an overall reflection noting improvement in poetry and rhyming skills.
2. Sea Monsters
They are creatures from the past and present
There are from the top of the food chain
They slither and swim in the sea for prey
They have sharp teeth that bites anything
When they find their prey they are merciless
They creep up their prey and bites it in half.
3. Reflection
• I used a poetry door: poetry heart.
• When I was writing other poems this poem just came into
my mind.
• The poem was easy to write.
4. Skydiving...
He jumps of the plane and enters the sky
And falls down fast like the wind
Gliding in the air
And he pulled the parachute
But it was jammed stuck like superglue
He fell down in the middle of the deep blue sea
And was bit by a sea snake
Which ended his misery
5. Reflection
• I used similes for this poem
• This poem I wrote came from my friend’s anthology which
was about sports, there was a poem called skydiving, I used
that idea and changed the words.
• This poem was was a bit hard.
6. Fish Food
There once was a girl who was dumb
Who had a very big bum
She swam with a shark
And it ate her heart
So she sunk dead on her bum.
7. Reflection
• This was a rhyming poem.
• I was looking at a rhyming dictionary and I came up with
this poem.
• This poem was easy.
• When I changed the anthology title In had to change a few
words.
8. More Fish Food
He jumps of the boat into the ocean
Diving and diving in the sea
He was too happy to notice anything
Not even the sea monster behind him
It bit him in two and it ate him
9. Reflection
• This is a freeverse poem
• This was a poem is like the poem fish food so it was more
fish food
10. Suicide
There was a man who wanted to die
!
Help Me
He jumped of a cliff and said goodbye
And then he landed in the sea
He was so scared he had to pee
And true to his wish he died
